9/2/22 - The Khawasim's Official Canon Divergence

Welp. Official content in the Fallen Lands AU (the world Inferno Khawazu lives and the world the dating sim takes place in) just dropped. I'm not going to get into too many specifics, because I don't know how many of you have read the content yet but... um. Yeah. The Khawasim is nothing like the official lore. Which kind of sucks for me, because:

1. If I want to make it canon-compliant, I'd have to sift through 82k+ words of content.
2. Some of it is so hard baked into the sim, I physically cannot make it canon compliant without doing MAJOR overhauls to a lot of scenes.
3. Day 4 pertains to (spoilers under Details)
   Inferno Khawazu trying to negotiate a partnership with Conqueror Lilias and Remnant Violet, as you - the player - try to sabotage them with increasingly ridiculous plans under the guise of ensuring there are no "love rivals" (heavy emphasis on the airquotes) in your way. Considering the official lore of Fallen Lands, I don't think Iwazu would be so friendly towards either.

I really, really wish I was writing this post to announce Day 4 Morning is ready or something, but it's maybe 60% of the way done at this point, and Fallen Lands just hurled a huge wrench into my canon. I guess that's what happens when you make your own canon for more than a full year, though. Don't get me wrong, I'm genuinely happy that we have official Inferno Khawazu content and all that, but it strayed violently from what I was expecting and wrote into the sim.

So the point of this announcement is that The Inferno Khawazu Dating Sim is officially canon divergent. I have been pondering what to do with this for a little while at this point, and I've come to the realization that it's for the best to straight up say this is not canon compliant. I dug myself so deep I cannot make the dating sim canon compliant right now. I'm only one person, and I'm bound to miss something, if it's even possible to retroactively fix things. 

Do note that as of this writing, we're only into Season 1 right now, and Season 2 and beyond of the Fallen Lands AU could align with the dating sim. If that happens, I'll be able to say "This is mostly based off of canon but branches off after [XYZ]."

With that said, though, there are still good things to come from this! Now that I officially acknowledge the Khawasim is canon divergent, I'm free to start injecting my own lore into it! There's been something I've been plotting with the Chiefs of Lava Vein, Emberstorm and Flame Heart for a while now, but now that we're branching away from canon I'm free to do so.

I'll probably come back in a little while to drop Day 4 Morning! I just wanted to make this post to let you all know that yes, canon is nothing like my fanon as to be expected, but I don't mind. Thanks for reading, and check back hopefully soon!
